This is drumming up to be a very exciting week! The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management will be revealing a series of exciting community projects next Friday at the Maring-Hunt Library, including the Grand Opening of the Maring-Hunt Community Garden Pavilion and a Mobile Farmers' Market. I will be performing a variety of Acoustic, Blues, Jazz, Pop, and Folk music at the event from 3:00-5:00 PM. The event will feature a family-friendly atmosphere as well as food, games, and more on Friday April 28 from 1:00-5:00 PM. More details about the event can be found on the Maring-Hunt Library Event Calender. Bring your friends!
Also this week, Music for the Sake of Music's summer music program has officially opened up registration for the 2017 season! The program runs from July 21 to August 9, and provides a daily lesson program for beginners, lessons and enrichment music classes (such as conducting, composition, chamber groups, and more) for all ages, and three performing ensembles open to the community. I will be performing the Haydn Trumpet Concerto with the MFSOM Orchestra and providing lessons and classes throughout the camp. Also, following the camp will be our 14th Annual Opus at the Kavarna Coffee House in Green Bay, WI. The event is free and open to the public, and you will get to here a variety of solo and chamber works performed by the MFSOM staff. You can learn more about Music for the Sake of Music and register for our 2017 program here.
